Swapped my hightop for a Spaceroofs Elevating pop top, and everything was done by pete..even the welding in of rusted out parts on the roof.  I didn't want the job of doing it so went to him and he done everything from start to finish.  Was worth the spends in the end.

This was what it looked like.

Then we encountered this lot

He kept us updated as to what was done and sent pictures of work

and the end result was this

So it would have been 3K but with all the welding around the roof is was close to 4k all in everything. i made the plunge as im not selling the van and keeping it until i can no longer, plus everything else i do on the van i do myself now but this was a bit out of my scope to do.

cheers, the inside is still original Autosleeper stuff, we just didn't have the need for a hightop and we can get into lower barrier car parks now  :rollin

Interesting read, im a T25 Newbie - well I dont actually own one yet!

Ive scratched around for a long time now and keep convincing myself in and out of buying one!

Anyway, ive narrowed it down to liking the ~1990 Komet conversion as the seating/bed is a bit wider than most others - it also seems quite a comprehensive conversion.
My issue - im not a major fan of the look of a high top, although I understand how convenient they must be.
Im in the same dilemma as others.... buy a high top and fit a space roof pop top - or maybe learn to like the high top!

Cheers anyway!  :ok

Hi Tops vary regards their height and some are only 2 berth. The main advantages of a Hi Top are extra storage space, warmth in colder weather and fewer problems regards age related leaks.

The disadvantages are driving in windy weather and no access due to height restriction barriers which annoyingly do not affect pop tops. Roof corrosion varies depending on many variables.

With a high top you don’t need to worry as much about potentially bad weather when you’re camping, so no getting up in the middle of the night to change your setup because there’s an Atlantic storm coming in.

Don't forget pop tops with folding solid sides. Best of both worlds?
