I have just had a 1984 pop top restored. Haven't got it yet....doing test drive this week. Have you put in a 1.6 Golf engine? I have had a 2L 1.9 petrol golf gti put in and have had bit of problem with the accelerator.....but hopefully will be sorted. Yours looks great. Can't post pictures as mine are on my phone but I will try to sort out and post at some point.
