1z tdi n75 valve question

Post by sweetaswesty »

Hi, I’ve just replaced the N75 valve on our 1z tdi conversion - which was done professionally five years ago - and discovered that the hose coming straight out of the bottom of the valve wasn’t connected to anything.
I think this is OK as it’s intended to be connected to the air intake to the turbo where it’s function is to release excess boost pressure. So just being released into the atmosphere won’t make any difference to engine/turbo performance? Can any one confirm this for me? I would have to find a way of plumbing it into the air intake otherwise I guess.
Here’s a pic from the Brickwerks listing - I’ve marked up the ends of the hose I’m talking about, it’s not facing down in the pic.
