Headlight failure
So straight to the earth crowns, fuses, relays etc. Lots of scrabbling around. Nothing.
And the problem was?
Both bulbs gone at the same time.
Pah!

Either an incredible coincidence - or - there is a root cause

Re: Headlights? Grrrr..
Actually pretty common, since both were probably the same age and you use them at the same time ?for the same amount of time ?

Re: Headlights? Grrrr..
The same age possibly, but even if they were the manufacturing tolerances wouldn't be that precise that they last to the same second even if from the same batch.
I'd say more likely the surge or spike from one failing would cause the other to fail - or a surge or spike that caused them both to fail

I'd be checking the charge voltage coming out of your alternator...

Or, one bulb failed but was not noticed, until the second one failed ?

Re: Headlights? Grrrr..
It occurred to me that the chicken switch on the Big Ass Fan (Aussies will understand) might have something to do with it but I have never used it in anger and certainly not at night.
I dunno, as I get older I like driving at night less and less so it could be anything.
Will keep a couple of spares in the van, just in case.
