Diode lights for instrument panel

Anybody know the specifications of these, as most outlets don't stock them anymore apart from China Land. PN i am after is 171919061D Yellow Light emitting diode

Why not use a white one with a yellow cover?

Just ordered some from fleabay, they
Do all sorts of colours on there. Didn’t know you could get coloured caps.

They are just a standard 5mm diameter LED

Agreed, they are all "standard" old fashioned LEDs.
None of this modern high brightness stuff.
They can be too bright - unless you increase the resistor values a little.

The only warning light that should have a cap is the blue high beam light fitted to some later models.
This is a blue cap or lens fitted over a low wattage miniature bulb and no inline resistor.
I have seen some similar bulbs on sale from model railway suppliers on ebay.

Early models used a standard yellow LED.
1983 Tin Top with a poorly DF and 4 speed DT box.
1987 Electrics and a DJ engine.
Maybe one day I might get it finished

Just had a crazy thought...
Have you tried wriggling the plastic loom connector on the foil connector.

Daft as it sounds, doing this on a few occasions has fixed some faults for some people.
1983 Tin Top with a poorly DF and 4 speed DT box.
1987 Electrics and a DJ engine.
Maybe one day I might get it finished

Ahh can’t do that anymore, I have the Gowesty upgrade board fitted, my blue foil of death died a couple years ago, I have just recieved x5 yellow diodes yesterday. But cheers anyway.
