Hello, this is my first post- I am new to campers and T25s, at 59...
I imported this van -a 1983 Devon Moonraker Auto- from Scotland to Ireland (previously reg A521 FLD - advertised on VZI- anybody know this van for its first 30-35 years ! ).
Anyhow, I'm a bit puzzled about these brackets on the left side. The gentleman handling the sale asked the previous 2 owners about the the brackets and the best guess was something to do with attaching windsurfing boards or such ! - I cant see how it would work. There were 2 other owners previous the them 2 , so one of them knew or knows for definite ! Unless Devon fitted them.
Are they some sort of strengthening brackets? There are 2 in the front - one curvy , one flat - in the area between the door and the sliding door , and two in the rear- both flat but different shapes. Any comments welcome ! Thank you.
Strange brackets on left side of 1983 van A521 FLD ?? any thoughts..

Does the hex head bolt in the middle unscrew?

Slowcoach - Yes, an obvious question, which I only investigated now- the hex bolts unscrew (4 cm thread x 1 cm wide) - there is about 5 mm of thread in the bracket for it to bite- rest of bolt can travels into the void...
TonyT25- an old awning, to possibly tie in with these bolt holes wasn't with the van.
So maybe a system using these four brackets, with bolts attachments at each corner, could carry surfboards or such like...
Thanks again for replies, Paul
