Gap at top of tailgate

Post by meggles »

Just wondering if my memory is playing tricks, but I don't remember a roof to tailgate top gap this large on any of my previous vans. Is it normal?

The only gap on a tailgate worth fretting about is a gap in the gate seal letting water in.

Exactly that!! Am sure ours is a larger gap in the middle. Have wondered if that gap is growing due to very regular use of the bike rack but I'm sure I'm being pessimistic!

This is why I rate this forum. Fitted my bike rack yesterday and was well happy.
Just been upstairs and looked out of the window down at the large gap at the top of the tailgate.
Started to panic thinking I had bent the tailgate.
A quick search on here has allayed my fears.

The gaps big enough to get your fingers in, that’s normal
