Drive away kador and figure of 8

Post by 100leelee »

Hi
Bought some kador strip and 3 sections of figure of 8 to attach to my camper/ awning..

Seems a pretty crap system to me!!
The rain leaks past the strip, and also where the figure of 8 joins..

Can’t see how else to use this.. but will ask anyway!!

Cheers

I gave up on figure of 8, it never fitted tight so I changed to pole and clamp. It's always tight so you don't spend 20 mins reversing up to get it right. Spend a few mins looking for good clamps that don't scratch your paint.

Tried pole and clamp..
the Vango Faros awning I have had the sleeve for the pole on the ‘outside’ of the awning bead, so the awning kador strip sits underneath the gutter, just enough to foul the sliding door..

So fitted an awning rail to the high top of the van..

But now have the fact that it ain’t anywhere near weather proof..!

I always roll the awning around the pole so it is tight to the van then fit the clamps inside the awning

It’s weird how this awning leaves the black kador strip hanging down enough to foul the door..
Plus during really heavy rain ( not that we get much of that.. lol ) the gutter doesn’t seem to drain and the drips are annoying.,

After fitting the awning rail to the van the awning fits great, but then I don’t get the drive away ability, which is kinda the point..!

Surely if you roll it all up on the pole there's nothing to hang down, just start from the bottom and roll it to the desired length?

Possibly, the main kador strip will then be rolled up, wouldn’t have thought it would then fit into the gutter..

You haven't got to neatly fit it in the gutter it has to fit between the gutter and roof, the clamps hold it in place.
