Diesel pump suffix

Post by Paul773car »

Hi all. I need a new diesel injection pump or mine overhauled as its leaking from somewhere underneath.

The number on mine for my 1.6d NA is 068 130 107H

I see lots of pumps with other suffixes such TX, AS, A, T, J and some without a suffix at all.

Are these interchangeable?

Paul

Did a bit more googling and some like the T are for the turbo engines as they have an LDA but can I swap any 1.6 non turbo pump for mine whether off a golf passant etc. So would a J suffix be OK in place of my H for example.?

Without the services of a specialist with access to the Bosch data you'll struggle trying to find out the exact information about the multiple variants of pump, if other than the leak yours runs well then I'd look at getting it fixed or swap like for like but used pumps don't store well so 2nd hand pumps are often useless, another reason for getting your fixed, it's probably just wear on spindle/seal and a fairly straightforward repair for an old school diesel pump specialist

It may still be possible to get to the Bosch 'E-Cat' online, pop in the Bosch pump part number, and get a fair bit of parts info. I did this a while back when I was looking into the various gen2 VW TDI engines and it was quite helpful.

For VW part numbers, sites with 'scraped' EKTA data such as 7zap, may be helpful.

OK guys thanks for the info. I'll have a look for a diesel specialist near me. The van runs well. We'll as well as a 1.6 na can. So repair in that case seems the right way to go.

Thanks
