Oldiebut goodie on here usually has some decent ones (not Chinese) for sale. I would contact him first.

If you do Facebook, join the Chinese diesel heater uk group. Plenty of info on there. My mate has just installed one in his van and says it is the dogs "Balls".

I have one ( not in my camper , in my workshop) and honestly , it was cheap (£100) and it works , but , it drinks the fuel big style and the battery , compared to the eberspacher dl1c it replaced .
Chinese kilowatts are not as big as German ones !
let me explain, I had a 2.2kw eberspácher in the workshop , it worked fine , used about a litre of kero per day running full power and it just about takes the chill off ( big cold flat roofed workshop , two T25 high tops big )
so I saw these eBay "parking " heaters , thought ok, I’ll get one, and I’ll get the biggest available ( 8kw) and it is massive physically compared to the eberspácher, but it’s not four times as powerful , it’s not even twice as powerful  , but it does drink four times the fuel !
now I’m not saying they are no good, infact I’m sure the 2kw ones are just the job in a T25, but there is a reason they are dirt cheap , they don’t have the brainpower the eberspachers have , there is no shut down procedure , and thermostat Control Is , shall we say , basic , very basic . They do have low voltage cut out , but no over voltage protection .  The fitting kit that comes with them , is , in my experience, crap , poor quality parts , the one clamps are made of cheese and the fuel filters are brittle and filterless. You can expect to resupply the fitting kit parts with better quality when you install .
that said , for a hundred quid , they will keep you warm and make your van useable all year round .

You only need a small bodied 2kW for the UK climate, had mine for 4 seasons running on kerosene @ 60p ltr. Some parts need upgrading like using Mikalor exhaust clamps and if fitting through the floor mounting on a turret plate. Mines mounted in a cupboard with the fuel tank in the rear wardrobe. Image

A turret plate seals uneven floors and protects wooden floors.Image

Hello,

I have had a chinese eber for 3 years now... :)

I had a 24volt eber before, which worked well but it was too complicated getting a stable 24 volts.

I think I paid 170€ for my 2 kw heater, fitted under the vehicle

See 'underslung eberspacher' thread...

Comparing the 2, the chinese one is a pretty faithful copy of the Eber.

I found the fitting kit to be fine, though I did use my own fixing system.

I have to clean out the burner every year

This is after about 100 hours running.

The only thing I have replaced is the glow plug, now ceramic, from the manufacturer, about 12€.

I keep a pump and spare glow plug in the heater box, about 35€.

Uses 0.2 litres per hour, drains 3 amperes, but 16 amperes on start up.

It has a low voltage sensor, but due to the current drain, and voltage drop at start up, I have wired it via a relay to the leisure battery, this is because it did not work well with my on board low voltage cut off for the leisure system.

The next improvement will be to fit a silencer on the exhaust.

No noisier than an electric fan heater.

I hope this helps,

Cordialement,

:ok

That one is running too rich - what is the exhaust CO2 like? ( Shouldn't need a decoke that often - you get at least 5 years with a Webasto) A 2Kw ST Webasto should run at 5 - 8% @1Kw  and 9 - 12.5% @2Kw  for reference.

Your fuelling is out, or it is badly installed.

Mine has no significant build up after nearly 4000hrs running. Image

Hello,

Thank you for the 'coking up' information... :)

I will conduct an experiment to find out how much fuel is being delivered, I will compare it with my spare pump.

I noticed that the offers on e-bay have a 1-5 kw pump.. so maybe overfuelling.

Maybe a restrictor on the downside.. :?:

Cordialement,

:ok

Look at that ad closely - first thing that leaps out at me is: ( it is an air heater not a coolant heater)
"
  • It can preheat the coolant of the engine to avoid wear and tear of engine that started at low temperature, can eliminate the window frost. Heat evenly, fast heat conduction.
  • The use of advanced automatic control technology, with a reliable abnormal operating conditions."
