You are back to looking along the length of the pump wiring and around the ecu plugs then.

Yeah will do, I can’t think what else it could be. Am I right in thinking the pump does nothing for at least 30 seconds then kicks in

Yes - motor has to spin up, glow plug up to heat and checks passed before pump starts.

Ok I’m pretty sure it’s the thermostat controller inside! My replacement is part number 251597801100 and the original is 251597801200. The original turns the ever on but not the pump, where as the replacement sends 12v instantly.
