TWINT ROUND HEADLIGHT FRONT GRILLE - WHAT BADGE? (FIRST POST)

Post by BambooYellowKamper »

Hi!

I am looking for a VW badge to fit the front grille of our T25.  C Reg 1986,  Autohomes Kamper conversion.

Struggling to find a badge which will fit the grille with no recess.  also unsure on why our Kamper has the twin round headlights as most of the Autohomes Kampers have the single headlights.  Could this be an aftermarket grille / headlight change?
It has been like this as long as we've had the Van in the family since around 94/95.

Any info or advice on finding / fitting a badge to this grille,  or any light shed on why it may have this grille / headlight configuration would be most welcome!

Thanks, Alex

IIRC that is a south African grill or an after market one based on the S.A. one. I very much doubt you can get a badge to fit it.

Thanks R0B,  would you expect the twin headlight to be an aftermarket modification too?

Sorry not sure what you mean. Just krappers sell this set up and that will be an after market thing I would have thought.

Not SA, its a "Taifun" (typhoon) grille, sometimes called a Hella Taifun (not actually made by Hella at all)
A period aftermarket part, very mid-80's.
Look very closely at one of the lowest slats at one end, you'll just about to make out the Taifun name. Its actually clearer on the reverse!

They never had a VW badge fitted.

deffo Taifun.
I also have the lower taifun grille.
Both are similar to the plastic in the bottom of a box of milk tray.
Expensive yet worthless junk.

P.S.
That's the first sheldon hi-top I've seen on an Autohomes.
I have the same top too

If it's not a T3, where is the missing model between T2 and T4?
VW didn't make fractions, did they?
