Sliding door. Not popping out.

Post by Richardspain »

The sliding door on our van has suddenly stopped coming outwards when you open it so we have to manually pull it outwards before sliding it back otherwise the internal panelling rubs against the bodywork when we slide it. Anyone know why this is happening?

Thanks

probably corrosion on the pivot arm and mount, the seal is probably split (they often are) and water has got in washing out any lube and causing a build up of rust

Yes, suggest that you get access to the moving components, clean up and lubricate well.
I'm still battling with my sliding door where the back edge pivots open but the lock at the front seems to be seized. I have a very stubborn bolt so I can't get the lock off the door - driving me crazy!
