Automatic Gearbox

Post by Ciaoflyer »

Hi Guys

I have changed the fluid on My Auto box and it drives well.  However, just wanted to check on the Level.

I completey drained the box and torque converter and refilled it.  When at operating temperature (hot) the level is between the marks on the dip stick.  However when cold the level rises above the max mark by about an inch, is this normal?

drive the van a few miles then stop and leave the engine running with selector on Park

check the level with engine running in Park

should be between the levels.

if it's higher you will have to undo the dipstick tube nut and drain some out or you'll do damage
