T25 mechanic Salisbury/Shaftesbury area - can you help?

Post by Chumbley Van »

Does anyone know of a mechanic who regularly works on T25’s in the Salisbury/Shaftesbury area of Wiltshire?
I have a problem with the rear brakes on my 1991 2 litre petrol hightop van. There is an awful hot burning smell after only a few miles. Have taken it to two local garages and paid for work but still not fixed. It would be great to know if there are any mechanics who love T25’s in the area who might be able to sort the issue.
Have looked on the T25 garages post on the forum but nothing listed in this area.
Thanks Ronnie.

Hello Chumbley Van. I used to get the same problem.  Mechanics tend to adjust the brakes too tight - they need to be backed off because those big drums swell when they're hot.

Go to Five Square Garage on the A30 (I hope they're still there post Lockdown) and speak to Jason.  He's their VW camper man.

Hope that helps

Thank you so much for your advice. We will see if the garage you mention is still operating.

All booked in Oldmanindorset. Fingers crossed Jason can fix the brakes issue.
