1.9aef to 1.8 8v

Post by T25nelly »

Hi everyone i own a camper that has been fitted with a 1.9aef unfortunately the engine seized solid while driving i might have the chance to get a decent 1.8 8v gti engine from a mk2 golf i was wondering if this can bolt on to my 4 speed deisal box and how involved as a swap is it.

It would probably be worth looking for an AGG or ADY or 2e 2L 8v motor.

Hi m8 i know the 2.0 are better engines with more torque but this 1.8 is local to me and cheap i reckon 112bhp will be enough as the 1.9 aef only has 60 or so bhp.

Anyone know if the 1.8 8v fits on a 4 speed deisel box
Would i be able to use the aef sump been quoted 795 quid for another aef engine on breakerlink im getting desperate here also on a tight budget and dont havevany space so buying a doner car or driving long distances for an unknown engine is out of the question?
