TDi Turbo Drain Torque

Post by badgerfax »

Hi All
I have a Tdi sump on my gti conversion
The sump has a blank plate where the oil drain from the turbo would have gone
I have just replaced with new gasket and is still leaking. & worried about over tightening with it being an alloy sump.
What is the correct torque for these bolts? having trouble finding reliable info
Hope someone can help.

Drain, degrease and use Dirko or Reinzosil.
Also lap the blanking plate down with wet & dry to make sure it is actually flat.
15-20Nm in aluminium will be plenty.

Many Thanks Silverbullet for the Torque range, was real worried about over doing it.

Got some grey Dirko so I'll do as you suggest

Have just done Oil change & was hoping to have sorted this pesky leak!

All the best
