Wandering rear seat cushions Devon Conversion
Hi
Always had this issue but would like now to solve it somehow.
Odd question but is a niggle that I'm sure has a simple answer
The seat cushions tend to slip and slide about - when in position there is a void where the back edges of both seats meet
I am thinking of sticking a piece of carpet to the bottom base laminate board to stop that sliding and maybe a strip / ledge along the bottom edge of the upright /backrest cushion to stop it sliding down
Hope this makes some sense ?
Maybe strips of velcro are the answer
if I solve it satisfactorily I will post what I have settled on as a fix
Thanks
matt

Re: Wandering rear seat cushions Devon Conversion
I use Velcro in mine to keep the seat cushions in place. Modern Velcro is excellent and I have a hard time trying to pull the cushions off when I put the bed out!

We use velco, best to glue or sew to the bottom of the cushion.

Mine had velcro on but it kept coming unstuck from the vinyl seat cushion.I swopped the velcro for anti slip pads like these https://www.amazon.co.uk/Rugs-Stuff-Ant ... 6243&psc=1" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; on the base. If you have material cushions it may not be a problem for you.

...thought I'd replied to this thread but obviously not.
Our Moonraker has an original interior.
The bottom cushion is held in place by a line of stud or pop fasteners that hold it to the back edge of the seat base. The fasteners are on a little flap at the back of the cushion.
The backrest cushion is held in place by two triangular pockets, one on either side at the top corners, that hold it to the backing board.
It works...

Re: Wandering rear seat cushions Devon Conversion
ooh that sounds an interesting fix
I was thinking velcro sewn to the covers might allow the cushion to twist slightly disfiguring the look of the covers poppers and a triangle pocket might well be the answer.
A couple of my other wheeled projects are taking more of my attention right now .... but I will resolve my wandering cushions somehow..
Thanks to replies i am receiving - maybe a mix of velcro / poppers and pockets - sounds like a party !!!!

Re: Wandering rear seat cushions Devon Conversion
Interesting to read of the original fixing arrangement. My seat boards are covered in the 'carpeting' used in other parts of the interior and I find my cushions (which I've recovered) don't really move around but I like the idea of the envelope pockets and the poppers. I wonder if these 'fittings' make it easy to pull the bed out with cushions still attached. I usually lift mine off when I pull out the bed. Cheers, Julia
