What gauge of steel for repairs?

Post by davegsm82 »

I found some extra unintended ventilation holes in the floorpan of my bus yesterday under in the passenger footwell.

What thickness of steel do I need for the patches?

Thanks.

Sadly all I can find in my stock* is 20 gauge, looks like I'll have to take a trip to a supplier.

Any recommended places in the Northeast?

*stock = a couple of sheets propped against the shed wall.

mm, any chance of a definitive list of what thickness to use in all the different areas? Possibly something that could go in the wiki?

I was just doing a search for this info and wondered - does anyone know if this was answered, perhaps in another thread that I’ve missed?
