Post by Wear Sunscreen »

Hi all

I'm looking to have my front seats recovered, has anyone any suggestions of people either in or near Birmingham who undertake such work without charging silly prices :rofl
Any help would be much appreciated.

Dave

I used a company in N. Ireland who supplied seat covers to fit over the originals.

The covers were about £150ish and they look and fit really well. Fitting was easy. The support from the company was excellent and delivered custom covers on time.

Not sure if you are after covers, but most people cannot tell they are covers.

Down here in London a local company charged me £150 to re-cover each front seat and they did a great job. I also got them to re-cover the rear seats/bed for another £300 all in child/stain proof material. A really professional job. Good work costs!

This may be a silly question but with recovering does this also generally include re-padding? Ours has its original basket-weave seats; the covering is still in fantastic condition but 33 years of different backsides means the springs are now very evident and beginning to poke in all the wrong places after a long journey. I would really like to keep the original covers intact (I really like having the original seats) but somehow do something about the insides.

I used Middlesex Motorcaravans in Edgware. They sorted out my seats while they carried out their regular camper conversion work. They took my front seats out and lent me two spare seats while they recovered mine along with the bed/mattress. Give them a call. I found the couple who run the business (and do the work) really helpful.
