Removing cylinder head 2l cu Aircooled.

Post by 3pintsNige »

Trying to remove the cylinder head from my engine. The engine has been removed from my van, removed all the cylinder head nuts but am having trouble separating the head from the cylinders. Does anyone any ways of doing this with out damaging the cylinders.

Then it is a case of levering only at the root of the cooling fins of the cylinders, they are usually just stuck with hardened carbon from leaking combustion gases.
