Devon Weekend 2015

Devon Weekend August 28th-31st

This year's weekend will hopefully provide fun & excitement for all the family, we aim to have a mix of non damaging green lanes and the occasional visit to a local pub en route. There will also be the option to head off to the Tiverton canal or the Honiton Hill Steam rally both well worth a visit over the weekend. Start is from the usual location, Postwood Gardens Campsite, Kentisbeare, Collumpton EX15 2BS, that's just 2 miles from Junc.28 on the M5.

Plans so far as follows, (though this may vary depending on numbers):
Friday 28th arrival all day (or earlier in the week by arrangement with the campsite owners)
Evening Start 6.00-7.00pm. Drive via a few suitable lanes to a local family pub.
Saturday 29th. 09.30-10.00 Green laning day with lunchtime stop en route, returning around 5.00.... hopefully!! eat at campsite or local pub, choice is yours, should have the firepit working.
Sunday 30th. lazy start, chance to visit the Honiton Steam Rally or take a trip along the Tiverton canal (hire boats available at the canal basin) both venues within 30 minutes drive from the campsite or if you prefer, more green laning for those who want it.
Monday 31st.am free day for you to decide what you would like to do,sightseeing, shopping, Honiton is a great little town 6 miles away.
Monday 31st.pm end of weekend or stay on and visit the local area, the campsite is quiet, friendly and inexpensive.
Please be aware that even the best laid plans are weather dependent so thing may change on the weekend and whilst we will do our best to make sure the weekend is as safe as it can be for all, some of these lanes are narrow and can result in damage if not driven with care, you are ultimately responsible for your own welfare, family and vehicles.

CB radios are highly recommended, as is a good towing strap as we can only travel in small groups
Numbers are limited, so book early or be disappointed. We will be working from OS Maps 114/115 for most of the weekend, both on MemoryMap.

Hope to see you there. Please sign below if you are thinking of coming and give an indication of arrival and departure dates.

Hi Roger
Put Jo and me down for it.
It will be our first time out with the club for a couple of years!!
Very happy at the thought of seeing you all again and putting the crew cab through the fluffy bits where you have to guess where the lane goes.
We will be bringing the Squeeze Box caravan.
It's been in a field for the past two years and so we might have to drag it on the wheel rims.
But the Bunting has been lovingly cared for and who knows, there may be some additions.
Not throwing down a gauntlet, just quietly confident we will have a respectable display.
It amuses me to see the look on the posh boys faces as they pass us with their new vans.
Will be digging the caravan out very soon to prepare it.
I'm doing the doka next week.
Best regards Nick & Jo

Hi Folks

I'm really hoping to make it this year but it will have to be a last minute call I'm afraid. Is there a final date for booking???

Baz
Please give Hilary my best wishes and I hope she feels well soon, If you PM me your address, I'll put some Double Dragon in the post for her, to speed up the recovery, as long as you promise not to syphon it off first :D
