Battery earth

Post by Tobias13 »

Eve all,

Does the positive on a starter battery need to be earthed??

In the below pic I'm removing the fuses as I will run stele rate supply from leisure eventually!!

Earth runs from batt to fuse and then to body!!

Is this a real question.

No, positive isn't earthed. Positive is the main power source, runs (insulated) through all those items that require 12v and then gets earthed to make/complete the a circuit. If its a genuine question, get someone else to do your electrics before you cause some serious damage. You might look at basic circuits (ie battery/bulb type stuff) until you have some understanding of a circuit.

If you earth a positive battery clamp the wire will get hot very quickly.
