RJES front harness install query

Post by Big Bear »

Hi all,

I'm just putting the RJES front loom extension into my van as part of my Scooby converion.

Can anybody advise please if I have things correct in the below piccie... This is the two fan wires next to the radiator on the RJES loom plugged into the original vw wiring which did go to the fan switch.
Does the existing socket on the switch get left not connected as per shown?
Hopefully this makes sense...
Thanks very much.

The fan is controlled by the engine ECU not the radiator switch on the Subaru conversion, so the switch is not connected. I don't have the RJES loom so I cannot say whether you have inserted the wires correctly, but I definitely know the radiator switch is not needed.

There is also an opinion that you don't connect them and let the rad switch control the fan as per original.
