Early gearbox fitting to late van

Post by specialshoe »

I have a 1990 t25 with 4 speed box.

Is it possible to change the gearbox for the early DU type.

Bell housing and clutch cylinder etc all looks like it will fit.

Anybody any experience of the mount - I have the mount on each gearbox type so hopefully have it covered.

The question is the gear linkage - which is very different.

Can the older type box be made to fit and connect to the gearstick?

What parts would I need for the linkage?

A straight swap turns into a 'pita' or a non starter!!?

Can anybody please give me some advice or point me in the right direction please.

Thanks

Bit more info.....

In my van is an ACP

And it's a DK I want to fit.

So it looks like it's just the gear linkage. Is it just the rear half of the DK linkage I need?

Thanks for info so far....
