cv joints

Post by Rust Bucket »

Just replaced all 4 cv joints and now i'm getting a creaking noise from the rear of the van on both sides, Ive packed the rubber boots full of grease made sure all the bolts are tight. Could it be the joints? Got them from just kampers and they said they were oe.

CV Joints don't creak. Are the rear springs located as they should be at the bottom. Its common on original trailing arms for the spring to move and start making its way through the bottom bump stop - they DO creak. Worth getting under there with rear wheel removed and really inspecting.

Yes, both of the spring mounts are in good condition and are located properly, there is no noise going over speed bumps only when the van moves from side to side. The springs and shocks are relatively new. Just seems strange for the noise to develop after replacing the joints. :?
