Problem is with dash lights, they work as they should when headlight switch is pressed, but only up until the ignition is selected, and thereafter when engine is running they are not illuminated.
All other dash lights and switches etc function correctly.
So far had dash out and checked connections at block, wires have no breaks around the area, dimmer switch looks ok, bulbs are good (obviously as they illuminate when not on ignition).

Any tips?

Re: 1984 T25 Dash lights problem
Check zener diode between ignition and lighting earth. Top one of the black bodied diodes. Put multi meter on continuity, test one way, it should read 1, test again other way, should get a small reading around 500/600. If one of the readings doesn't read 1 then replace the diode. Hope this helps.
Re: 1984 T25 Dash lights problem
Also if this has happened check load relay as this could be the start of the problem.
Re: 1984 T25 Dash lights problem
Thanks for the help.
Diode is good, just tested.
Which one is the load relay?
Maybe worth noting that all my other dash electrics function normally - indicators, hazards, headlights etc.

Re: 1984 T25 Dash lights problem
Right got a little further with this.
-Removed earth crowns and cleaned up, also fitted new spade connectors to earth wires
-New headlight switch fitted
Just tested my voltage regulator, with headlight switch 'off', I'm getting 12v in and 10v out.
With headlight switch 'on', either sidelight or dipped beam, I have negligible voltage both in and out - around 0.5-1.5v.
Could this be a regulator fault? Although when the headlight switch is off it does seem to function correctly..
I also dug around in dash wiring to tidy it up, and found 3 wires; 2 brown, 1 pink, that were not connected to anything and just wrapped together, I have added a couple of pictures. They run into the main wiring wrap directly under dash going to / from dials I presume.

Re: 1984 T25 Dash lights problem
So had a continuity test of my random wires at the connector plug (with power off).
Pink wire; getting reading at all of the pins exempt for numbers 2,3,5 and 12.
Lighter of the two brown wires; only get reading at pin 5.
Other brown wire; only get reading at pin 2.

I have exactly this problem, currently using a little head torch
Il investigate further this weekend
