metalmick8y wrote:hey look its your van but what/why fix the panals on by welding them in the seams?, are you going to fill them and de-seam it or what
have a look here, half way down,http://forum.club8090.co.uk/viewtopic.p ... 7&start=60 you will see the front panal was welded in the seams and bodged over with filler, ,and this i beleive by a vw dealer, the welds were then ground out and this left little remaining for securing,
if ive jumped the gun and its done for another reason or choice then accept my oppologies.
oh and when do the B posts come out/off were all waiting
mm
I'm afraid I have no idea what any of that means?! I trust Creative to do a good job, I don't know how any of this metalwork works?
With regards to the B-Pillar, theres still a some more repair work to do yet:
the drivers side rear cab panel,
the front panel,
re-locating the fuel filler cap
the cab bulkhead is going to be replaced
and then it'll be time to move onto the suicide door.
So as pointed out by metalmick8y, i've not updated this for quite a while!
I was at Creative early last week just discussing a few details before I disappear to the Falkland Islands for four months.
They've done more work on the flat-bed support struts and have ordered the checkerplate to form the floor.
I've bought the new suspension (the 70mm AVO springs and dampers from Brickwerks), some door poppers ready for my doors to be smoothed of their door handles and a flush fitting fuel fuller cap (say that when you're drunk!).
Work should be starting on the passenger-side B pillar to form the suicide door soon.
Yeah, on that, it doesn't look like that's going ahead.
Alan @ Creative has some doubts with regards to the structural rigidity and the safety aspect, and i'll be honest, now matter how much I wanted to do it, if there is any doubt over safety, then i'd rather not.
any one recommend someone to do this in Norfolk please?
Where about's are you? I'm in Heacham and have just done the same thing but i'm doing the work myself, with advice from Metalmickey of course.
Send us a PM.

@halfbakedpixels
There'll be some more straightening work going on soon.
No work has been going on for a while as i've been busy with work, in and out of the country etc.
Of course, pictures as soon as I have them.
Ahh ok. The van was there for a long time, I forget exactly, over a year. Some great work done, but the project was too expensive for me at the time. I'll be taking this one to them probably for a few bits to be done.
