Yeah, and I was glad to see the back of my iphone. Screen cracked twice in the time I had it (nightmare even DIY), tethering was abominable, signal often poor, it heated up like a george foreman grill, and it always felt like I was behind a big unfriendly itunes wall. Switched to a windows one for a quarter of the price and been happy days since.
Tacho a good buy by sound of it. Will order one. Handy for when I'm checking the timing etc

I'm also interested in how folk have fitted these. Is there cabling to fit a rev counter in the dash or do you need to run cables from the engine at the rear?

I fiited mine here, the pod is stuck to the dash with VHB (very high bond) double sided tape to save drilling the dashboard and the cable comes out of the gap between the instruments.
The illumination was a bit bright for me so I fitted an 220K ohm resistor in the illumination cable.
If you have a later van with the blade fuses then the cable is already fitted from the rear.

Do you know where that cable is connected to Herb - i've got a rev counter for mine ready for install and will be handy to know if i haven't got to trail the wiring from the coil?

The green coloured cable comes from the engine to the rear of the fusebox black coloured plug E terminal 12, then comes out at red coloured plug B terminal 19 to the dashboard plug terminal 9.

It's been a while but thought I'd update this thread as fitted my new old stock Rev counter today using big herb's sound info above. Having the later fuse box makes it so much easier as didn't have to trace a wire all the way from the coil:

I see you used the 'no holes need drilling position' using the speaker grill
Cheers chaps - Yep, made use of those old speaker holes Paul, although a bit of drilling was required to enlarge the holes & fit the thread/wiring through.
