Tyre size help

Post by bicolour »

Hi all

I'm currently running 225/45/17 on merc alloys the van was lowered about. 80mm but I have put back to standard height
Now I'm looking to fit the biggest tyres I can on my rims?

Was thinking 215/60/17 all terrain ?

225/45/17's are too small anyway...225/50/17 is the correct size to keep the gearing the same.

215/60/17's are 38mm larger than the standard 14" wheel/tyre set up...I doubt a standard 2.0 Aircooled actually has enough power to cope with that increase in tyre size?
