Vw t4 central locking prob

Hi everyone I know, it's not a t 25 problem, but my farther in law has a t4 caravelle. The problem is the van has central locking but when you lock it all doors lock but the tail gate unlocks, then if you unlock the van all doors unlock and tail gate locks,..... Any ideas

My T4 doesn't have central locking, so sorry can't help. Try posting on the VW T4 Forum.

I think the T4 uses similar locking motors to T3s (at least Brickwerks sell T4motors and a wiring harness to fit in T3s.
T3s have a 3 wire system for the tailgate and sliding door, one earth, a lock wire and an unlock wire.
Is it possible the two wires have become swapped over?
Otherwise I'd guess the earth in the tailgate has failed and the motor is earthing incorrectly.
