Drive shaft length

Post by nikalele »

Hi,

I have a 1y powered t25 with a 4speed 1.9 petrol gbox attached. The other day the driveshaft snapped  not sure what caused it as I had just done all CVs last week (must have done something wrong...). Anyway, I need to buy a new one. I have found one on eBay and it has the length given as 522mm. Is this the standard size?

Cheers all

Nic

522mm is for one side of an auto. You want to be looking for one that is 541mm.Both these include constant velocity joints. Not sure about a bare shaft though.(Click picture to enlarge)

phew! that was close. Almost bought the wrong one. Cheers mate!

Any ideas as to why this would have happened? I cant think of what I could have done wrong when fitting the CVs they all went pretty smoothly. I was doing a hill start when is snapped, Im guessing it just happens sometimes.
