Re: The GASWAGON (act III)
Thank you
Well a big box arrived

it gets better, i really love this sort of proper packaging

nice
last part of closures in

welds are a good size as i wind the mig up for these, soon sand them flat again

need to remove this from the old part

its in 2 halves as i removed it the quick way

old part

and

cleaned and ready ,i have welded the two parts back together

and back in , i did take measurements prior to removal but as can be seen in an earlier picky ,as i make the new parts as a replica then it all lines up anyway

coat of protection

the raised stub to the right i took a measurement for this and it is also in a line of 4 so no issues refitting it

all these areas have yet to be sealed and then recoated, this is just the first real coat excepting the wt

nsf arch back in/on, note the small bit of braze at the swage , this was to aid fitting and will be removed

the braze at the top is optional and it will all be sanded back and made good originally there was just sealant here. also i have found signs of a new cut .well an arch cut that had been let in here, prob from the accident
this is the lip on the inner arch of the nsr wing, it only needs a tack every six inches or so and the sealant will also adhere it

protection in here as well

getting late and as this was waiting then i knocked orf

Re: The GASWAGON (act III)
well made a threaded stub to affix the cooler cowl to the chassis. here its fitted to the cowl and then i will bolt the unit to the van and then simply run a bit of weld round it, should guarantee its in the correct place

i have also welded a washer to the end to give support as often you see stress cracking around items like this if you dont.
now in place and a good daub of product

now i got waylaid tonight as i got a call from mr talbot, i will leave him to tell the tale ,he should be back by 23.00 ish
i had the pleasure of an hours drive over this

great views

and an hour back
so the front jp which is secured to and comes with the original sill fits inside the outrigger, this as from previous picks was damaged and i finished it of to aid sill removal , to me the quickest way to do it, they just need a decent little run of weld on each side,no need to overkill it

new outrigger end, which ties it all in nicely

inner sill coated, its always good to get something on it initially , it will get another coat followed by seam sealer and then something else followed by dynax uc, these latter ones after the painting as i dont want it coated in overspray
