Hi
I'm leaning strongly towards fitting a hightop (next best option is hardsided poptop but I've never seen any of those for sale...). Was looking at a 2nd hand sheldon top (the higher one cos I want to have options of adults sleeping up top) on ebay for £150, but I've just been told that it'd take about 3 days graft to remove it from the steel roof that it's still attached to. I don't have much time at the moment, so want to look at new ones instead.
I see you can buy new autohomes komet tops on ebay: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/ROOF-FIBREGLA ... 35d04c39c5
timber techncians don't sell them anymore due to lack of demand.
Anyone know of any others (ideally I'd like to be able to get it made in colour of van too!)?
Cheers

Re: Who still sells new high tops?
Thanks guys. I was leaning towards Fabzzz's JaegerBomb top (huge, and already nicely lined and insulated) but I now need to move house so will have to park this project for a while.
I'm still interested to know of anyone who manufactures them new though - will do some research on whether I like the autosleeper ones and then drop them a line. They're not too far from here either

Re: Who still sells new high tops?
thanks eiret25. It was a bernd jaeger one that fabzz was selling a couple of months back. It looked great (if a bit chunky). I did look on his site a while back and he didn't seem to be selling his anymore though. From memory I think he was selling the polyroof one http://www.polyroof.de/hochdaecher/volk ... 592a9a8217 which also looks OK. You're right though it is a fair trek!!
To be honest this project has fallen right off my list now anyway as I have landed a new job in Plymouth so have to pack up the house (and GARAGE!) and move everything down there. No time for hightops at the moment sadly....
Keep 'em coming though - it might well be a project for next winter

Re: Who still sells new high tops?
Hi there
I'm not sure if you are still interested in a high top for your van but as you can see from my current thread http://forum.club8090.co.uk/viewtopic.php?f=38&t=128706 I have removed my high top. I have not yet decided what to do yet, replace the high top after sorting the rust or search for a pop top to put on. I see you are moving to Plymouth - great move - I am located in South Devon by Kingsbridge. Let me know via pm what you think. No time scale from my point of view at the moment though I want it back on the road ASAP!

Re: Who still sells new high tops?
HI Woodyyellow.
I've had a quick look and yeah the hightop does look to be of interest. Timing is the big issue though so would only work if it's able to hang around with you for a while...
New life in Plymouth starts 6th May and will need a bit of time to get sorted (hopefully not as long as it's taking to extract ourselves from this house though...) but you're not far away so maybe I can pop by sometime and have a look....
Let me know how you get on with pop/high considerations. I spent ages considering poptop options before deciding on a hightop and still couldn't decide. I'm sure I woul've ended up with a westy though (roof and parts availability)
ps - underneath it's canary disguise your van's the same colour as mine!!
Cheers,
John
