Re: tow bar questions
If the "more solid looking one" is a two-bolt flange type, then I'd probably lean that way, if for no other reason than it'll give you a wider range of fixings for "stuff", should you want. Bike racks, bumper protectors, anti-snake, etc etc. But the Westy one's going to be perfectly strong enough for the maximum rated towing weights.

Re: tow bar questions
My syncro came with a westy 4 bolt ball type thing... But was no use for any bolt on accessories, so removed and bought a Whittier type bar, which was SO inferior to the westy, I'm scared to use it to carry my motorcycle as I'm sure it would just snap!!!.... So guess you just need to think about what else you might want it for???
in too deep to quit now....

Re: tow bar questions
i like the westy too and if your van is a standard height then that would be the way to go , if you can find one! on the syncro i have one that is very popular in scandanavia and can be moved up and down to suit the lift of your van

Re: tow bar questions
Will all types of tow-bar fit under a steel bumper? Were there different types that fitted under the 'big bumper' models?
