1.9 TDI AFN Conversion Parts Required

Post by knipey »

Hi all,

I recently did what no one should ever do and that is to buy a car off eBay without even seeing it first  I guess I'm just a trustworthy guy :D

1997 VW passat 1.9TDI AFN 140,000

Anyhow I got it delivered to my door yesterday and although not aesthetically pleasing it seems a good solid engine.

I am now setting out in search of all of the other components that I need to make this conversion possible.

Is there a previous post which may have details on a 1.9 TDI AFN conversion or any other source that may be of use to me?

Any help be it parts, links or general knowledge will all be appreciated

Thanks,

Knipey

Surely you must have done some research before purchase of the donor  -first peice of advice would be to make sure you have the best gearbox available to make use of all those extra ponies-either a A Talbot gearbox rebuild or perhaps go down the flipped passat box seeing as you already have one :D and spend a little extra on a workable cable shift.
