t25 rear towbar - affected by early or late?

Post by xpress »

hi there.

is a rear t25 towbar affected by early or late configurations of t25?

also is there only one type of towbar with the bar attaching to the rear bumper mounts and the bumper needs taking off? will I need to cut the bumper to fit it back on?

also how good is the moped rack that some of you guys have on here hat you can get for under a 100 pounds?

anything else you think I will need to know please let me know.

2 types of fixings for towbars ( all t25 vans all years/ models are the same)

OE vw westfalia style and later witters replace the bumper hangers in the chassis .
bumper then bolts to these .

you do need to make a cut out for the hitch bar on either( VW originally made the cut out while pressing the bumpers)

early witters have a more complicated set up with mountings into the middle of the rear panel and along the chassis under the van

Interested by the reference to "rear" towbar. Where are you putting the others?
