behind the wardrobe...
What do others do to make the back of the wardrobe look neat from outside? We've tried putting a bit of wood behind our new unit but it looks very messy from the outside & it would look worse with nothing there - obviously losing the window altogether is going to be the best solution but this isn't an option right now and not something I'd necessarily want to do.

Mine has thin ply on the back, like you would on a ikea wardrobe/shelving. The window that the wardrobe backs onto also has a curtain that is permantly fixed on with poppers

I got a thin piece of MDF and sprayed it black then nailed it on

A less 'irreversible' approach to achieve the same would be to stick some frosted vinyl over it. Mine has a bathroom-glass-effect vinyl over the half of the window that's behind the wardrobe. No idea whether that was original.

Mine just has the curtain continue to the end of the glass - looks absolutely normal like that.
