Carrying Calorgas

Hi all,

I currently carry Camping Gaz 904. Its small and expensive. ive got room, if i do a bit of modding, to carry a 3.9kg calorgas bottles (propane or butane).

Is it OK to carry calorgas on board a vw? ie, not like a motorhome that has 'vented to outside' storage cupboards. Im sure i read that theres some regulations here, or is it just when the bottle is over a certain size?

Hi,

You should always have a drop out vent in the cupboard, box , case or wherever you store it.

Do you mean A drop out vent to the outside? How are people doing this in their t25's ?

I have a fridge vent, but that is obviously not in the floor, but on the lower side panel.

If its to vent heavy gas, does it need to be in the floor, or are people using the sliding door 'gaps' for this?

In the cupboard where I store my gas bottle (907) I have a vent fitted which goes through the floor of the van. The fridge is vented through a grill on side of the van. It's also a good idea to have a CO alarm fitted too

How big of a hole/vent

30mm is fine and fit a mesh bung in it and underside i fit a bit of plate stood 1/2"away from the hole to stop water splash

Nice one i replaced the wood floor in mine so ill redrill the hole thanks
