I am going to be re fitting my rear cab window soon and will be reusing the old rubber...it appears to be the vw one but had a groove like a conversion "claytonite" type rubber.....and the filler strip is missing...so is the filler normally fitted? and does it go inside or outside? I want it to back as it would of left the factory so only answers based on fact please!

thin slit would be for the chrome trim but i dont think thery were fitted on cab rears, panal conversion seals for the insert would have a gap of about3-5mm

I did wonder if it was for a chrome insert but it seems just like a conversion rubber but a loop....I'm sure it's original but possibly missing a filler strip.....anyway it's going back on and with a lump of black claytonite in the gap!
