How long to remove a set of side planks

Post by alfieboy »

How long does it take to remove a full set of side planks and front and rear bumper. I have a well know trader trying to charge me 8x hours labour for doing this and i think this is rather excesive, this is just the tip of the iceberg but i thought i'd start with this one.

I recon i could remove mine in under well under 2hrs.And that's accounting for a brew in-between.Longer if the hanging brackets need removing.Either way 8hrs is taking the urine.

As Rob stated.
Removing them - under an hour.
Removing the brackets - also less than an hour.

Thanks guys, just as i thought. He's trying to charge me another 5x hours labour to fit them pack,so that'll be 13 hours in total
How about 19x hours to drop the engine and gearbox ready for painting(by another company)then putting engine/box back in,does it sound like the fellas trying to rip me off. The list is endless

I won't be useing them again thats for sure, think this one will end in the small claims court and am just trying to gauge how much he's trying to rip me of.
Another example; Fitting up the front end of the van(not including windscreen and bumpers) i presume this means the 2x grills and a pairs of square headlamps 4x hours, even i could do that in 10 mins and i'm no expert
