Which Eberspacher and where from please?

Post by fairwynds »

Evening all,
I am planning to fit, or have fitted, an Eberspacher heater in my '85 petrol/LPG'd 1.9DG van.
questions:

1) is this the best type to use?
2) where is best to source from?
3) is there a best 'model' to get - I gather they have different outputs....
4) cost to buy / cost to fit?

I don't want to rush in and end up buying the wrong thing, only to be told by the wise on here....

Thanks in advance - looking forward to a warm winter!

Most of us have the diesel D1LC.Ours is a petrol/lpg van.We have the fuel supply in a can sitting in the spare wheel. There is also the Propex heater these run on gas. There is another option and thats called an airtronic. These also run on diesel. As it happens i have a D1LC for sale.

I think the neatest diesel Ebber on a petrol/LPG van has got to be on Ian Hulleys van, I have not seen it in the flesh as it were only in pictures but the whole idea is genius IMHO. He might send you the details if you send him a PM.

Just for your info.A lot of folks fit their eber under the r&r bed.My LPG tank lives there. So my eber is tucked away under the glove box..

The man with extensive knowledge on this subject is Oldie but goodie....I remember seeing a thread where he commented saying that there are many more manufacturers than the few spoken about here.
Ebbers are a very good option if you intend to use the vehicles own fuel source (petrol or diesel) but they are expensive and many opt for a cheaper propex with seperate gas bottle.
T25's need about 1600watts to warm the cab adequately.

Cheers Jed, but I can't take the credit, the idea was Steve Mocki's, I just had them made up @werk. It's a 200 x 200 x 300 stainless fuel tank (2.9 gallons) in the apperture below the rear vent on the nearside, the filler tube runs up the cavity and the filler's in the plastic vent. The pump is attached slightly below the tank via a bobbin to a rivnut into an existing 10mm hole in the chassis inside the engine bay ... this also retains the tank. The Eber itself blows into the middle of the living area of the van.

There are a couple of different heater diesel tank options here

Three different ones I think if you scroll down the page.
