huge water loss through bottom of engine
Hi I was returning from a weekend away when i noticed a hissing noise come from the van, when i stopped a friend who was following. said a jet of water shot out of the right side of the engine. The header tank was ok but the expansion tank was empty when I refilled the expansion tank it instantly drained out of the engine to the right of the engine, in between the pushrod tubes near the rocker cover? Any ideas? I have just had a new water cooling system fitted and new heads, head gasket and exhuast valves.

Not an expert but my first thought would be that the coolant drain plug which is situated in the bottom of the head between the pushrod tubes has not been fitted properly and has worked its way out - thereby releasing all your coolant onto the road. I assume from your description that its a WBX engine of some description?
Hope you can get it sorted and that it hasn't done damage to the work that you've just had done.

They are called core plugs and if you have the size (meaure it) then if you google core plugs ...bingo..http://www.coreplugs.co.uk/" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

Re: huge water loss through bottom of engine
Hi got under her last night for a look and its not a core plug its actually the bolt thats come out. the other side is a recessed hex bolt/screw. I put a bolt in with some gasket paste and a rubber washer as a short term fix and filled her up. she sounds fine but the water in the expansion tanks a bit scummy?
sorry meant to say shes a 2.1 wbx dj injection
