Fuel Pressure regulator

Post by Tug »

Hi,

Engine is a 2.0 cu

I will be installing my new Webber Carb over the next week or so. I have purchased an electric fuel pump to supply the fuel to the single webber carb. The question I have is do I need to fit a regulator ? The guy at Webcon assured me that I did not..but have been reading a few stories about damage to the carb if you dont.
The electric fuel pump is rated at 2.5 - 4.5 psi.

Could I have some advice please.

Also what diameter fuel hose is recommended for this fitment ? Pump tails and Carb tails have an internal diameter of approx 6mm.

Thanks

Glenn. :ok

Hi,

Thanks for the reply. I have heard good and bad reports so will try it and see what happens. I will probably send my solex carbs away to be refurbed. I use my camper as a daily driver so could not be without a vehicle for too long. Most companies were quoting 9 weeks lead time so had to make a decision ..and the weber got the thumbs up.
I have been told that so long as you are running an electric fuel pump they are not too bad. The problems arise when they are run on mechanical pumps as they pulse the fuel as opposed to a steady flow..so im lead to believe.

Thanks

Glenn.
