We headed north overnight an up the side of Loch Lomond with a stop at Tyndrum to see some friends of mine who have a b&b there. We ended staying over as they had a spare room, lucky really coz it was snowing during the evening. Next day (last Sunday)We drove over Rannoch moor and through Glen Coe to the Red Squirrel campsite which is well within walking distance of the great pub that is the Clachaig Inn. A few good real ales in there with abit of live music went down real well...We also sat and watched a deer come and have a drink from the river, not 10 metres from the van.

Next morning a steady drive up to Fort William and the glen Nevis campsite, a real big site and not the place we would usually go but it was really nice place and at the foot of Ben Nevis to, even though we never saw the top of it due to low cloud!
After a day in Fort Bill, it was on to the road to the Isles and a stop at Glenfinnen for a boat trip down Loch Sheil. Tonights campsite was at Arisaig right on the beach, white sand and some of the best sunsets going, although we didn't see one

Next morning we headed north to Mallaig for a seafood lunch and a spot of seal feeding in the harbour....

Bet your thinking we are off on the ferry to Skye next...wrong! We turned tail and headed down the A861 and on to the Ardnamurchan Peninsula only to find the road closed in the middle of nowhere for two hours, all we could do was park up and put the kettle on. Not a bad place to have to sit and wait...

The Ardnamurchan Peninsula is such a wild place and is also the western point in the british mainland so im told. So we stayed on the most western campsite

The next day we caught the ferry from Kilchoan to Tobermory on the isle of Mull as foot passengers. No sooner had we set off then the captain shouted 'whale' stopped the ferry and turned it round so we could all see a minke whale swim passed

Back on the mainland we made our way east to Resipole for a wet nights camping and a chilli and beer for tea

Then on Friday we went across the Corran ferry and back into Glen coe and our last nights camping with this as a the view from the van...

Saturday was a stop in Tyndrum and back home via Callander and stirling....
The van ran faultless apart from a broken speedo so dont ask how many miles we did
