Widening Centre bore

Post by colouredFunk »

Hello,

I bought the following wheels under the impression they will fit by T25.

I've now found out that the centre bores need to be enlarged to fit on the front hubs. The centre bores are currently around 56.98 and my understanding is that they need to be 66.56mm to have a good fit. I've found a place that say they can engineer the bores (http://www.alloymagicltd.com/alloy_wheel_repair/. But I thought I would just ask the group for peace of mind. This is safe right and reasonable common practice? I don't really want to have to sell the wheels, I bought them for £250 of eBay.

Thanks in advance :)

Looking at them there wont be much metal left between the bolt holes and the centre.By the time you have had them bored out.

You paid £250 for alloys before finding out if they do actually fit?

Just because they have the same PCD as a T25 doesn't mean they do fit....

You may not need to enlarge the centre bore due to the high offset but you will need at least 20mm spacers as well as longer rear studs and front bolts....not to mention different tyres as the tyres fitted are for a car.

Expensive lesson me thinks....
