I have recently purchased a T25 Autosleeper 1985 1.9 petrol.
I have looked for the instruction manual on here and wiki but these look to be for later conversions with zig panels and split charge.
Mine has not got a Zig control panel. It has a water level gauge and a socket with two switches (water pump and fridge). I do not know what battery powers the lights and fridge (2 way). It does have a 240v hook up but this looks to be retro fitted as it only powers two 3 pin sockets.
Does anyone have a manual for this conversion (its the "U" seating arrangement in the back with a poptop)??

Re: How can i tell what aux battery powers
As martin suggests...
From experience..
it powers the sink pump and interior cabin lights. (not courtesy door lights)
and a propex if fitted.
When the 12v is selected on the fridge the alternator powers it... when the engine is running not the battery.
You do have a split charge relay if you have a leisure battery under the passenger seat. (relay is located in the engine bay on early models)

Re: How can i tell what aux battery powers
It depends on which model Zig unit is fitted, my 1985 Hi Top has a CF9 which has a built in mains battery charger. There is a 12v "charger" switch on it with "Towing" and "on site" positions, when towing is selected it joins both batteries together so they are both being charged while driving. If left in this position when parked up both batteries will be in use. I have fitted a "Discarnect" to my main battery so I am sure not to run it down when on site. By disconnecting the main battery I can check what is being run from the leisure battery. I have just checked they are: lights, waterpump, water level guage, propex heater and 12volt socket. If the 12v Charger switch is left in the "towing" position the vehicle interior lights, radio/CD player etc will also work off the leisure battery with the main battery disconnected, the snag is it is not being charged. When the 12v charger switch is set to "on site" and you are on mains hook up the leisure battery is being charged.
Hope this helps,
Sid

I forgot to mention there is also a 12volt switch which has "car battery" and "caravan battery" positions so you can select which battery you are using when on site.

That should be always on 'carravan battery' setting, and only ever used in car battery as a last resort.

Re: How can i tell what aux battery powers
Thanks for the all the replies.
I'll have a look at disconnecting the batteries and see what doesn't work.
I'll see if I can find the relay in the engine bay as I do not have a zig unit as sids has so not able to switch between the two.
Thanks Dan.

Re: How can i tell what aux battery powers
As above, disconnect and try everything.
I personally have everything except the engine and the 'vehicle' lights running on the vehicles battery (even down to the radio and cig lighters from the leisure).
As for your hook up being retro because it only has two single sockets - that doesnt mean its old - 2.2Kw (2200w) is the most you should be running on hook up (generally split 2Kw for sockets and 200w for lighting).
