Nice job, I like the way you ran the blue down to the edge on the front rather than going up the pillar.
Don't worry about the masking, you will see others wouldn't have done.

Just had a recap through the thread. You have done a great job and the colour choice is superb.

looks spot on mate. probably the classiest combination you could get :rofl
what colour did you go for in the end? how has it come out along the lip above the front grille and did you go all the way and laquer it?

Thanks all :ok

I chose Fo_rd Olympic blue; a colour used in the mid 70's and was also on my mates RS2000.

I used signwriting tape to mask the lip edge, but no, no lacquer was used because the paint company didn't have a solid colour basecoat formula for it - too old a colour probably - so I did everything in a single layer 2 pack.

Doug.

Right, I've been getting on with doing the insides and have begun to refit the rear area, starting with the new headlining and working my way down:

I stiched the supporting rod for the headlining in, using the old headling as a pattern, and fitted it, and then applied some glue to the rear frame, then put a couple of mole grips onto it all to hold it still while the glue cured. I've no idea if this is how the professionals do it, but it seemed the best way for me

Image

Then onto the front section, appling glue all the way along the seam and attaching the headlining. Its supported front, rear and by its wire support now..

Image

Now its pretty much in place, just giving it a little stretch hear and there to seat it.

Image

While that was drying, I began on the bit under the bed:

Then put some of that insulation foil stuff undeneath the engine cover area:

Then put new cover in place and fixed it down:

Insulated both inner rear wings & tailgate with it too:

Then I fittted the recovered wardrobe back in place:

And then the overhead locker thingy:

I'm pleased with how the headlining went in, its nice and taught, you could almost play a tune on it
Hear's a close-up of the wardrobe door and its new handle:

I made a bit of a ricket when recovering this bit, I forgot that the rear would be on show so used two bits of offcuts instead of one complete bit [tight wad :P ] so instead I made a little filler bit to run in line with the light bar unit, and I'm pleased with how it looks, much classier :rofl

Looking really nice Doug, was just debating whether to do the lining on mine, yours looks so good it might have answered the question for me

Where did you get the material from?
