The beauty of a Westfalia (it's the only one I have experience of ) is that they are definite year round campers. The insulation, double glazing, inboard water tank, and the heaters make it ideal for all year round trips. I've never stopped for the season...

This was just north of Braemore in the highlands. I think it was close to -20C in the coldest of the night although you might need a good down sleeping bag. We didn't use the heater at night at all, as the upstairs turns into a sauna!

We camped on New Year's Eve last year. I wouldn't say October was too late.

got to agree that its brilliant in winter, something about those cold crisp mornings , the dog loves it too!
we got a thrm x and a propex, but only use the latter in the night and even then we dont set it on the stat just if we wake up cold (very rarely) then flick it on , usually about 04.30 ish, water inside and good sized leisure lpg tank fitted
only downside can be the short days but still worth it

Slightly off topic, but has anyone tried to fit a 'night heater' to their T25?
I know there not the smallest kit in the world, but mine comes on a hour before I start work in the winter and keeps me nice and warm

every year a few of 80-90 members camp at Dubfreeze, it can get a bit cold

I was without a heater the year before last (pictured) but with a good feather quilt I was toasty warm - but clearing up from the night before was a cold job!

We'll camp all year round. Our Westy isn't quite as original as Mr The Spreads but we keep warm.

Being in west Cornwall and near the Gulf Stream helps though.

We are on the look out for a Propex but when we have hook up we use a £12 Argos fan heater which works a treat.
