I have sealed window up with windscreen silicone sealant but water still getting in making holes in sill and floor. In the photo I have a plastic filler which is about an inch long in the external channel. Does anyone know how long this should be? thanks for any advice. I just cant seem to stop the water getting in

Re: Leaking sliding window
Only sure way is to get that window out, treat any rot and sort the window out for good. When I rebuilt my sill, I left a small gap between floor and panel so that if any water does get in, it has a route out again. You won't stop it any other way and silicone sealant will only work where everything is bone dry and even then, not for long.
